Mr. Townsend is an Operating Partner at GEF and leads the firm’s portfolio company growth initiatives. Prior to joining GEF in late 2023, Mr. Townsend served for fifteen years as Chief Executive Officer of Bluesource, an environmental attribute project developer and market maker which raised and deployed over $2B into greenhouse gas remediation projects, conservation and credit generation. Before entering the environmental and sustainability sectors, Mr. Townsend held additional roles including President of the real estate data firm, Landvoice, and Associate at University Venture Funds and Morgan Stanley. Mr. Townsend has a Master of Business Administration, New Venture Development focus, from the University of Utah, and a Bachelor of Science in Sales Management from Purdue University.
