Payal Gaggar is a Senior Analyst at South Asia Advisors, a sub-advisor to GEF Capital Partners. She is based in Mumbai and joined South Asia Advisors in 2023. Payal supports the firm for managing operations, regulatory matters and compliance functions of South Asia.
Prior to joining South Asia Advisors, Payal was a manager with PwC’s International tax and regulatory team working for the Financial services industry. She was responsible for providing consulting advisory to marquee Venture Capital and Private Equity funds for conceptualisation and implementation of their fund structures, for tax structuring assignments, for providing transaction advisory from an India tax and exchange control standpoint and for working on tax compliances, tax diligences and tax litigation assignments. She also had experience in handling the regulatory applications of Fund Management Entities (FME) in GIFT city, Non-banking financial Companies (NBFCs) and Trade Receivables electronic Discounting System (TReDS).
Payal has completed her Chartered Accountancy from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has a Bachelor of Law degree from Government Law College, Mumbai and a Bachelor’s degree of Commerce (Accounting and finance) from University of Mumbai.
